Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the ability of students grade VIB State Elementary School Number 125 Pekanbaru, academic year 2014/2015 in listening children story in Indonesian subject by applying Review Study Verbalize Preview (RSVP) method. The subject of this study is the 22 students of grade VIB academic year 2014/2015 that consist of 9 males and 13 females. The technique used in this research is test, observation, and documentationtechniques. The result shows that the average of students’ ability in listening children story before the action just reached 69,55% under "Underachiever" category, with completion rate is 45,45% or 10 students passed. At the first cycle, it improvesto 83,18% under "Able" category, with completion rate is 68,18% or 15 students passed. The second cycle, students’ listening ability improve to 91,36% under "Overachiever" category, with completion rate is 95,45% or 21 students passed. The implementation of Review Study Verbalize Preview (RSVP) method improves students’ ability in listening the subject of Indonesian language at the VIB students of State Elementary School 125 Pekanbaru.
